The Amazon rain forest is the richest rain forest on the earth! This is also called Amazonia, the Amazon basin, the Amazon jungle.

The Amazon forest crossed over 7 million square kilometers, but the forest area covered about 5.5 million square kilometers and this total area is located over nine countries continent of South America. The majority is located in Brazil.

This forest contains more than half of the rainforest of the total forest area of the world. The whole forest area is rich with diversified flora and fauna and many species which exist in Amazon are not found in any other part of the world.

The most important fact is that the forest is named under Amazon River which is the largest river on the earth by volume and the amount of water flow through this river is greater than the combined flow of the top ten rivers of the world. This is considered as one-fifth of the total world river flow and the drainage system is the largest basin on the earth.

The surprising matter is there is no bridge built over the Amazon River!
