I planned a program to take relaxation by traveling to some best places in North India. Accordingly, we settled to take a tour to New Delhi and around because of the fact that my nephew was in service in Agra, and ultimately with the help of my nephew, we made detailed programs of the tour and started our journey first to Agra Cantonment by train. After a prolonged year of service, the journey was comfortable and as good as relaxation as we got two favorable berths. On arrival at Agra Cantonment, we stayed in a hotel as arranged by my nephew.

Table of Contents

  • 1 Taj Mahal
  • 2 New Delhi
  • 3 Red Fort

Taj Mahal

The day after we went to see the famous and beautiful Taj Mahal, one of the best tourist spots in India. Tourists not only from India but also from all over the globe don’t miss to experience the unbelievable amazing beauty of the Taj Mahal. It was developed by a red sandstone fortress by the great Emperor Samrat Shah Jahan in 1631 and still standing bearing a main attraction of the tourists not only from India but also from all over the globe. The emperor built this in a real memory of his second wife Mumtaj Mahal. Knowing the past history and seeing the architectural legendary specimen, we became somehow romantic. I think, the tourists visiting this must be romantic for a few seconds. We waited there till evening because we knew that the actual beauty of the Taj Mahal can be seen in the full-moon night. Due to the surrounding by the river Yamuna and Industry, the red sandstone fortress is becoming affected by prolusion. In fact, it was our tribute to the Taj Mahal. We took some photos from outside. There is a restriction to take photographs of the inside.

New Delhi

Thereafter, we moved to New Delhi by a private car pre-arranged by our nephew to New Delhi. We, there visited the ‘Rastrapati Bhavan’, Jantar Mantar, and other touring places. All of those have got a historical background and tourist spots. It was our first visit to these places. We also took a view of the famous Parliament Bhavan from where all Indian fate is being destined. We became excited to see this Bhavan. Our Car driver and nephew were actually our guide. We did not require taking any guide to visit these places.

Red Fort

We then visited the famous Red Fort which was the residence of Mughal Emperors that was built by smart Shah Jahan 17th Century when it was the capital of old Delhi. We became astonished that this fort mostly covered by a red stone wall along the river Yamuna. It is also called ‘Lal Quila’. In front of the Lal Quila, a long and broad road where many ceremonies are being observed, such as 15th August, 26th January, and so on, which we can see on Television program now. Many foreigners remain present on these occasions. Visiting this historical fort, we went to the past history for a few minutes, as if we were in the 17th Century for those minutes.

At the end of this tour, we returned to our home leaving our nephew by train from New Delhi Station.
