St. Martin Island is located in the Bay of Bengal, Bangladesh. St. Martin’s Island is relatively a very small island to the Northeast side of the Bay of Bengal, about 9 km away from the south of Cox’s Bazar, precisely from the Teknaf peninsula. St. Martin’s Island or Saint Martin’s Island is the only coral island in Bangladesh and totally isolated from the mainland. From 1890 to 1900, around 60 individuals started to live on the island, right now there are about 10000. Most of the island’s occupants are Muslim and live dependent on fishing.
